Few things are guaranteed in life, such as the air that we breathe, treading on a piece of LEGO and The Simpsons.
Remarkably, The Simpsons has been airing on TV for 35 years, yes, 35 years since its inception in 1989. Today, The Simpsons is fast approaching its 800th episode and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

One of the most well-known locations in The Simpsons is Moe’s Tavern, a place in which Homer regularly drinks with his friends, Barney, Carl, Lenny and on occasion, Larry and it’s the latter that is today’s topic of discussion.

Voiced by Harry Shearer, Larry isn’t as well-known as the other characters in Moe’s Tavern but since making his debut in the 1989 Christmas special, he can often be seen sitting at the end of the bar on a stool necking down pints. Larry is no longer in The Simpsons because in episode 765 ‘Cremains of the Day’, he has been killed off.
As you might expect, fans across social media have reacted to the death of Larry in episode 765. “I can’t believe they killed off Larry Dalrymple on The Simpsons last night,” tweeted Blade___McG and, “Why did they have to kill off Larry from The Simpsons like that???” exclaimed ashleeverma.
“Can't believe The Simpsons has killed off beloved character Larry the Barfly after 35 years with the latest episode having seen Moe's Tavern regular Larry – who is often seen drinking in silence with Homer and co – drops dead at the bar,” said IMCLUNKY. At this point, I’m surprised no one has set up a GoFundMe for Larry’s family.
No doubt fans across social media will be making their predictions as to which The Simpsons characters will be killed off next. As WWE and WCW star Bill Goldberg would say, “Who’s next?”
