The MCU’s Spider-Man replacement has had its name quietly changed by Marvel.
Despite a Spider-Man 4 tease getting roasted by fans, there’s still much excitement surrounding the various possible futures of the Spider-Man series.
We say various because, let’s be honest, the multiverse is always going to factor in whether we like it or not.

In fact, alternate timelines are part of the reason Marvel has renamed this upcoming MCU Spider-Man story.
Despite being different, it feels right to check out the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer
Originally titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel has now christened this new series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

“Makes a lot of sense,” commented Redditor Spiderbyte, “When the old title was announced, everyone assumed it was a Homecoming prequel.”
However, that isn’t the case.
The upcoming Disney Plus show will explore Peter Parker's origins previously unexplored in the cinematic universe.
In short, this Spidey is vastly different to Tom Holland’s portrayal.

While that’s the case, fans had hoped Holland would return in some capacity. Unfortunately, the actor isn’t expected to make a comeback to play the role.
Despite Holland purportedly not coming back for more Spidey, at least not in this instance, familiar faces (or should we say voices) will.
Arguably one of the most thrilling is that of Charlie Cox who will once again play Daredevil.
Furthermore, What…If? Spider-Man actor Hudson Thames will lend his talents again for this latest MCU outing, as well.

Thames’ rendition of the beloved teenage superhero will see Norman Osborn mentor Peter rather than Tony Stark.
Fans are thrilled by this plot point, saying “how cool” it is “taking the greed and compulsion of Osborn and juxtaposing it with how selfless and humble the Parkers are.”
The 10-episode run of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to air on 2 November.
