While it may be in the far future, Doctor Strange 3 is being teased by recent rumours that Sam Raimi is coming back to the director’s chair.
Whatever you may think about the overall quality of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, there’s no doubting that Raimi tapped into the darker side of the MCU.
The MCU returns to the big screen next year in the Thunderbolts* movie
First teased on Twitter, it appears that Sam Raimi is near to signing a deal to direct the third Doctor Strange outing.

The news quickly made its way to Reddit where fans seem to be overjoyed that the legendary Spider-Man director will be back on another Marvel project.
The fans’ only criticism is that Raimi needs to be paired with a different writer for the sequel as many believe the script didn’t live up to the vision.
“Hopefully there is a better writer on board,” said OntologicalParadox.
Another Redditor says, “Raimi is a great director and made my favorite movie (Spider-Man 2) just give the guy a not s**t script and executives need to quit meddling with his movies.”

Raimi, with his epic horror career, can bring a level of darkness and mind-twisting visuals to the MCU and Doctor Strange is certainly a character who benefits from that level of weird.
User Ericandabear said, “Let him do a movie that isn't bogged down by dumb fan service cameos and it'll be great. Even the Spidey films show that the man thrives with creative control.”
I think Raimi can really elevate a superhero project and, in my mind, Doctor Strange is one of the weaker heroes in the MCU when compared to others.
If we’re going to get another film, it needs to embrace the utterly bonkers source material and play with the visual medium.

As AdmiralCharleston comments, “If he's involved from the start I have a lot of faith that he can cook pretty hard here.”
