Doctor Strange 3 update leaves MCU fans frustrated

Doctor Strange 3 update leaves MCU fans frustrated

It doesn't make a lot of sense

The state of the MCU seems in constant flux as executives try to win back an audience that has gone lukewarm on superhero stories of late.

One of the films supposed to reenergise fans is Doctor Strange 3. However, a new update has fans more frustrated than ever.

Marvel gave us a look at what's in store for their TV shows in 2025 with an exciting sizzle reel

According to a post on Twitter from MCUFilmNews, “‘DOCTOR STRANGE 3’ is unlikely to be released during the Multiverse Saga.”

This has fans over on Reddit confused and annoyed.

If you saw the last Doctor Strange film, that featured Scarlet Witch as antagonist, you’ll be aware that the post-credit scene specifically hinted an ‘incursion events’ along the multiverse.

Well, if the rumour above is to be believed, that storyline seems to have been shelved.

Lollytrolly018 on Reddit said, “Is that just gonna lead into Avengers now?”

AlmightyLoaf54 is on the same line of thinking, “So does this mean that what was teased in the post-credit scene will be explored in Doomsday?”

It’s an odd move given that Strange’s character is so tied to the multiverse as a concept and he would have been the perfect hero to bring the multiverse to an end.

Of course, he’ll likely have some say as he’ll appear in Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars, but this means his own film will likely tell a new story.

“They really f**ked Strange in his trilogy,” said Purple-Mix1033, who continues, “Almost 10 years and only 1.5 movies. MoM only counts as half of a Strange movie.”

The complaints and confusion keep coming.

Princecuse13 comments, “So the character whose whole thing is the multiverse isn't gonna get another movie set during the multiverse saga?”

It’s a puzzling choice on behalf of Marvel with many fans wondering if the company just wants to end this saga and sweep it under the rug due to the whole Kang/Majors controversy.

Plus, Marvel and Disney are likely very eager to usher in the X-Men after seeing how popular Deadpool & Wolverine turned out to be.
