Two actors from the original Harry Potter movies have said who they’d like to play in the upcoming TV series reboot from HBO.
There’s already a lot of hype surrounding the Harry Potter reboot from HBO, despite knowing very little about the production at this time. All we know for sure is that it’s a TV series and not a movie, and it will have a modern setting, retelling the books one series at a time.

We don’t know who’ll be cast in the leading roles such as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. However, being such a beloved film property with a fantastic cast of actors, whoever is brought in to replace the original line-up has big shoes to fill.

Fans have made some brilliant choices such as who would make the best Hagrid, Dumbledore and Snape. But at least officially, Warner Bros. is yet to make such announcements.
That being said, as reported by Forbes, Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the movies, and Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfroy, have revealed during a MegaCon panel in Orlando, Florida, who they’d like to play in the reboot.
Isaacs joked that he’d like to play Dobby the House Elf (originally played by Toby Jones). Lucius Malfroy was the former master of Dobby, so I think that would be a fantastic casting choice as an easter egg, so to speak.
As for Lewis, being too old to reprise the role of Neville Longbottom at the age of 34, he said that he’d like to play Remus Lupin (previously played by David Thewlis).

It would be great to see original Harry Potter actors recast in the reboot, however, it would be a tad strange seeing the likes of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson play different characters. So perhaps we might want to leave those talented actors out.
At the time of writing, the Harry Potter reboot does not have a release date.
