Harry Potter fans united over TV reboot Snape casting

Harry Potter fans united over TV reboot Snape casting

An excellent choice

Harry Potter fans have united over who should play Professor Severus Snape in HBO's upcoming TV reboot.

Last year, following months of rumours, the live-action Harry Potter TV series was announced. We know very little about the production, such as the story it will tell, what actors will be cast and when it will be released but fans are excited nonetheless.

All we know for sure now is that the Harry Potter series will be set in the same timeline as the novels and will take place between 1991 and 1997. Regardless, considering that the movie adaptation is one of the most popular properties of all time, its TV counterpart has big shoes to fill.

Already, fans are torn over who might be cast as Hermione Granger, let alone the leading role of Harry Potter himself. However, one casting choice that many fans have agreed on is the role of Professor Severus Snape, played in the movies by the late, great, Alan Rickman.

“Who would you cast as Severus Snape in the upcoming Harry Potter reboot? (Remember Snape was only 31 in the first book),” asked Redditor Gabinando.

In what was a fairly unanimous answer, the role of Professor Severus Snape in the TV series should be played by Adam Driver, who is best perhaps known for playing the villainous, Kylo Ren in Star Wars.

“Adam Driver is the only answer,” declared Puzzleheaded_Step468 with Well-Teknically adding “Adam Driver can still play 30-something imo but they need to hurry.”

“Adam Driver is literally the perfect casting and you can't convince me otherwise,” said a defiant NoEmu2398. Whereas plenty of other Reddit users simply said “Adam Driver.”

There is no confirmed release date for the Harry Potter TV series at the time of writing but there’s a good chance that it won't premiere until 2026. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
