It’s no secret that it’s full speed ahead on the development of the next mainline instalment in The Witcher series.
Colloquially referred to as The Witcher 4, the game will kickstart a brand new trilogy and see a new protagonist take the lead.
Whether that means wholly new or the promotion of an existing side character, like Ciri, we don’t know.

With post-launch content now largely finished up for Cyberpunk 2077, developers have shifted The Witcher 4 from pre-production to full development.
It’s far from being the only Witcher project in the works.
You may recall that back in 2022, a remake of the original was announced.
Very little was given away about the project, but we do know that the game is being remade in Unreal Engine 5

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks stunning following its new-gen upgrade. Take a look at the game in action below.
"We are thrilled to announce that The Witcher Remake is being worked on! That's right, the game that started it all is being rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5," a statement read.
"The game is currently in the early stages of development at the Polish studio Fool’s Theory, where veteran Witcher series staff are involved. We, as CD PROJEKT RED, are providing full creative supervision."

CD Projekt RED later confirmed that the remake would be fully open-world which means players will be able to freely explore Vizima - a tidbit which has caused huge excitement.
“Yay! That’s like the one thing I wanted from this remake,” wrote Reddit user foobarhouse.
“Man, if they don't f**k it up, it might very well be one of the best remakes in a long time,” added TheRaptor678.
“Awesome. So it’ll be more like a whole new game, as opposed to a purely graphical and gameplay remake,” commented TammyShehole.

Unfortunately, we’re likely many, many years away from launch so patience is required.
