Since then, mods for the 2015 RPG have dramatically increased in number with some being dedicated to adding new maps whilst others have focused more on graphical updates. With thousands of the free downloads available on Nexus Mods, it is no wonder The Witcher 3 is experiencing a resurgence.

Now, a few weeks on, CD Projekt Red has released its first patch for REDkit alongside a general hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The 6 June hotfix for the game has focused on two areas: an issue where turning on HairWorks on DirectX 11 would crash the game and “adds some new capabilities for modding scripts: the script compiler now supports a number of annotations”.
As for REDkit’s first patch, there are a lot of improvements including the colour picker in the Environment Editor will now show colours properly and creating a new world and generating terrain will no longer fail when Ray Tracing is enabled.
There are also fixes to UI, overall stability and compatibility. Additionally, new tutorials have been added to the User Guide to help out its users even more.
