Elder Scrolls fans are tired of the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI, and fear it’s an omen for future Bethesda games.
It’s honestly wild that The Elder Scrolls VI was teased in 2018 only for nothing to come over so many years later. Starfield, an entirely different game was released at that time, and recently it was confirmed the next Elder Scrolls game has only just entered full-time development.

This has been a point of contempt amongst fans who believe the teaser dropped far too early, and should have only been announced closer to the game’s release when we can see some actual gameplay.

The premature announcement has actually killed a lot of the enthusiasm for the game, as well as raised several questions and discussions regarding the way Bethesda creates and markets its latest games. Rockstar Games has mastered the art of silence regarding upcoming releases, with hardly a word said between the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the first trailer for GTA VI.
A discussion was sparked on Reddit about the new Elder Scrolls game, with many fans believing Bethesda’s design philosophy is outdated and flawed, the real reason why the past few games and future ons don’t pack the same punch as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim did.
“After the Starfield fiasco I have no hope for TES6. Bethesda have lost their soul and their design choices in combination with never switching engine is a testament for TES6 downfall.”
“Nobody will care until the first gameplay trailer comes out. Then the hype will come back.”

“Bethesda has a horrific attitude. They see themselves as still being the Skyrim studio who can do no wrong.”
Of course, there’s always the chance The Elder Scrolls VI is well-worth the wait, and so entertaining we won’t even be thinking about the next game in the series.
