Those excited to get their hands on The Elder Scrolls VI at some point in the next decade aren’t too happy with Bethesda’s latest trailer for the game… although the fact that the trailer is almost seven years old probably has something to do with that.
Yup, that’s not an exaggeration: on June 18, the first (and only) trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI will officially be seven years old.
Since then, we’ve heard basically nothing in terms of the game’s development, and it seems fans are starting to lose their patience with Bethesda.

Over on the r/ElderScrolls subreddit, fans have been sharing their opinions about the teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI in a post making fun of how long Bethesda have been taking to release the game.
“With some heavily modded Skyrim setups you can have vistas and visuals that look much nicer than this cinematic trailer,” commented user YesNoMaybe2552, “also gets early Starfield levels of FPS on a 5090.”
“This game is gonna suck ass. I just know it,” replied another user.
“The magic of the previous games will be gone, and they'll release a soullness mess just like Starfield and call it a day.”

Look, I’m not going to defend Bethesda. We all know they released that teaser trailer just too soon.
It was likely just to appease shareholders and temporarily increase the company’s value. Bethesda probably only did so because they were already being eyed up by Microsoft.
However, I do think the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI might not be as long as you think.
Remember when Fallout 4 was announced? Bethesda only released a trailer for the game that actually featured gameplay when it was less than six months away from release.

I think the next time we see The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda is going to reveal that it’ll be on store shelves within a year. So, for the time being, just chill out and let them cook.
