The Elder Scrolls VI fans have renewed hope that an announcement could be near following a recent development.
Outside of the mighty GTA VI, there are not many games that are more hyped than the next entry in Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series, The Elder Scrolls. Announced during E3 2018 (yes seven years ago), fans are desperate to learn the release date for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Sadly, despite being announced seven years ago, not only do we not have a release date for The Elder Scrolls VI, but we’ve not even seen any gameplay. All we’ve had so far, at least officially, is the initial 2018 teaser.

The only real comfort that fans can take regarding the release of The Elder Scrolls VI is now that Starfield and its expansion, Shattered Space, are out of the way, our next adventures in Tamriel should be the next priority for Bethesda.
The wishful thinkers might hope that we might at least learn the release window for The Elder Scrolls VI during the next Xbox Games Showcase set to take place this coming June during the Summer Game Fest season.
However, the more immediate future of The Elder Scrolls VI has presented an interesting development, quite literally.
“Bethesda is hiring mission designers; it seems that TESVI has moved out of the alpha stage,” shared Redditor Lopsided-Ad7318. The information is shared via the LinkedIn profile of David Fhima, the lead recruiter at Bethesda Game Studios.

Bethesda Game Studios is looking to hire two quest designers to help create quest content for an open-world game that tells “engaging stories”.
The job description also says that if you’ve played every release of Skyrim, that will be considered a bonus. So yeah, it’s safe to assume that this position is to work on The Elder Scrolls VI.
“I’d apply if I didn't have the absolute worst writer's block whenever I'm writing by myself,” jokes Accept3550 with billybobjoe2017 adding, “Sounds like you'd be a great addition to Bethesda's team.”
“Bethesda has hired 14 positions in the past six months, as far as I know,” claimed Orbit_JP. “Recently, it has been confirmed on LinkedIn that they have been conducting motion capture.”

“I really hope some of the main storylines and other quests have actual in-game consequences or tie in with other quests,” said xSgtLlama.
“If they’re hiring people to write quests, it’s not out of alpha, probably not even in an alpha build yet,” replied K_808 making a very valid point.
Hopefully, we’ll learn the elusive release date of The Elder Scrolls VI sooner rather than later. We’ll keep you posted when new information drops.
