An Unreal Engine 5 game on Steam is a glorious new first-person shooter, heavily inspired by BLACK.
The game is called Beautiful Light, and while it’s not officially out on Steam yet, it’s said to be “coming soon.” It’s definitely one to keep an eye on though, or at the very least add to your wishlist.

Described as a "PvPvPvE tactical first-person extraction shooter," a bit of a mouthful but you get the idea, players are separated onto multiple teams, with the objective of securing and extracting important artefacts before someone else gets there first.

It sounds like things could get competitive in a fun way but it’s not the genre that makes this game stand out from the crowd, it’s the setting and games that inspired it.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the easy comparison would be Bethesda’s RPG series Fallout. Both titles feature a world ravaged by destruction as well as plenty of spooky monsters braving the harsh environment. However it’s also very reminiscent of 2006 FPS BLACK. This was a shooter published by EA that hurled the player at a group of terrorists and stands out from other FPS games like Call Of Duty for its cinematic camera angles. The game played as if it were a Hollywood action film, garnering positive reviews from players and critics alike.
While Beautiful Light is a bit more eerie and spooky, you’re still playing as a highly-trained, tactical soldier, so if anything the monsters should be more scared of you than you are of them.
Of course, the game has also been made with Unreal Engine 5, so to no surprise it looks gorgeous and full of detail.

Beautiful Light doesn’t currently have a release date, or even a release window proposing a year, however the gameplay and screenshots on its Steam page look very late into development so it could release sometime this year.
