
Although the cyberpunk genre has existed for many years, the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2020 really thrust the sci-fi futuristic setting back into the limelight.
Showing us a glimpse of what the future could look like, complete with neon-lights spilling onto crowded streets and cybernetic augmentations just being a part of everyday life, the cyberpunk genre has been beloved for many years.

Made popular by the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? By Philip K. Dick and later adapted into a 1982 movie titled Blade Runner, the genre is as popular as ever thanks to the hit RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

Now whilst we wait for Blade Runner 2099 and Cyberpunk 2, fans are eager for more and luckily, this Unreal Engine 5 game inspired by both the Blade Runner and Cyberpunk franchises will definitely keep us busy.
Created by Pasquale Scionti, the untitled demo has now received major updates which focus on adding ray tracing, reflections, shadows and ambient occlusion to the game.
As a result, we can see the game in 4K, 1440p and 1080p thanks to a brand-new Youtube video and it is safe to say that cyberpunk fans will love this one.
It is clear that this demo is still in its early stages but we have now received our first glimpse at a small environment which we can tell is heavily inspired by Blade Runner and Cyberpunk 2077.

Rain beats down on darkened streets, broken up occasionally by the glow of neon-lights advertising restaurants and various other businesses.
Our protagonist is seen running through the streets, long coat flapping in the wind as he passes NPCs living out day-to-day life in the darkened alleys.
“Just need a sequence where you chase a replicant down an alleyway and I'd be sold,” one comment read and I can’t help but agree.
So if you are a fan of the genre, this untitled Unreal Engine 5 demo is definitely one to keep an eye on.
