A brand new open-world survival RPG that looks like a mix between Fallout and Horizon Zero Dawn (with some Valheim influences thrown in for extra measure) is set to drop in 2025, and fans of classic 90s action films may want to keep an eye on this one.
Terminator: Survivors is an upcoming co-op, survival-focused game from developers Nacon Studio Milan and publisher Nacon that’s set to launch on Steam sometime in 2025.
As you might have guessed from the title, Terminator: Survivors is based in the same universe as the Terminator franchise - and it seems the game is catering to its fanbase with the game’s story.

The description on Steam promises that you’ll be able to meet "iconic characters of the franchise" throughout the course of your playthrough, and it also teases that you’ll be able to learn about exactly “what happened on Judgment Day in an unexplored storyline”.
Ghost of Yōtei is launching on PS5 this year.
As far as gameplay goes, survival is the aim of the game here. In Terminator: Survivors, “scouring the surrounding land for materials, information, other survivors and key resources” is paramount if you want to succeed and build a base strong enough to repel the Terminator threat.

Thankfully, the game offers co-op with up to four players - and it sounds like you’re going to need the back up, based on how brutal the survival elements sound.
There isn’t an exact release date for this one yet, beyond sometime in 2025, but the devs have stated that it’s coming to Steam before any other platform.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S ports are in the works however, but won’t release until the game is out in early access on PC.
Here’s hoping this one is a bit of a step above the last Terminator game, Terminator: Resistance, that we received back in 2019.
