An early-access game on Steam looks like Fallout had a baby with Horizon Zero Dawn, and you might be able to play it for yourself for free.
Now I realise some people out there might be sick of hearing about Horizon Zero Dawn, after all the series is essentially PlayStation’s golden child at the moment alongside Astro Bot, and then there's that PS5 remake...
That's not even the only Horizon game on the way, LEGO Horizon Adventures launches sometime this year too
That being said, this Steam game seemingly takes heavy inspiration from the Horizon games, but offers a slightly darker twist.

It’s called The Forever WInter, set in a dystopian future where humans are hunted by enormous robotic menaces.
To survive you have to scavenge the wastelands as you come across unfortunate souls who didn’t get their happy ending, but are carrying loot that’ll be helpful to you on your journey.
If that sounds at all familiar you’re not going mad, as The Forever Winter seemingly takes a few notes from the Bethesda IP Fallout as well.
Worry not though white the inspiration is pretty clear to see there’s seemingly enough in this game to make it stand out, like the eerie setting and the threats you’ll face along the way.

If The Forever Winter looks like your type of game I’ve got good news and bad news.
The good news is you might be able to play the early-access build of the game, but the bad news is you’ll need to register for it so there’s no guarantee you’ll get a place.
You’ll probably be fine, but it’s best to refrain from getting your hopes up to spare yourself any disappointment.
Slightly more bad news is if you’d rather wait for the full game to drop you might be waiting for a while, as there’s no telling how long the early access will go on for.

It’s worth trying though, especially if you play on PC and love Horizon Zero Dawn and Fallout games.
