A free download for a 2024 open-world survival game just dropped on Steam, but you may only have a matter of hours left to claim it.
Nightingale is an "open world survival crafting" game from developers and publishers Inflexion Games, published back in February 2024 exclusively for PC on both Steam and the Epic Game Store.
In Nightingale, survival is the name of the game. You'll be spending most of your time flinging yourself through "mystical portals", either solo or with friends, in a bid to hunt down powerful foes across the Faewilds.

The survival part of things isn't just exclusive to combat however, as you'll have to cook all of your meals, craft most of your weapons, and build a shelter to defend yourself from the elements if you want to continue living.
If this all sounds great to you then, great news; you can now play a solid chunk of Nightingale for free, provided you clicked on this article before said download disappeared forever.
Simply mosey on over to the Steam page for the game and click the download for the demo, and you can play through part of Nightingale at no extra cost.
The devs state that this part of the demo allows you to play through “from the start of the game through Sylvan's Cradle”. I have absolutely no context for how much gameplay time that offers you however.

If you do like what you play through, then even better news; all of your progress in the demo carries through to the main game, which is also (conveniently) 40% off on Steam right now.
It sounds like the download will disappear forever at 6 PM GMT though, which is roughly four hours from when this article goes live. So if you’ve got this far and you’re keen, stop reading already and see if it’s still up!
