This is an important announcement for the PC users out there; you better run to Steam as you have just a couple of hours left to nab a free game.
Microids’ Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy is the title up for grabs, a certified classic from the year 1999.
If you’re not familiar with this little slither of adventure game history, allow me to fill you in.

The game was designed by Benoît Sokal who based it upon his Inspector Canardo ‘L’Amerzone’ comic book strip.
The game centres around the French explorer Alexandre Valembois who journeys to the South American country of Amerzone.
There, he’ll discover a magical species of white birds.
The problem is that a friend of Valembois, Antonio Álavarez, establishes a dictatorship in Amerzone and so, Valembois must do everything he can to help protect the birds’ fantastical home.

PlayStation Plus users, don’t forget you can currently grab Dragon Age: The Veilguard via the essential tier.
Players will actually assume the role of a journalist who’s taken it upon themself to assist Valembois, particularly as the explorer nears death.
It’ll be up to you to unravel the mystery of the white birds after Valembois previously witnessed a unique ritual involving their eggs.

There’s a fair bit of point-and-click gameplay involved as you scour around for clues, and you’ll also need to solve your fair share of puzzles.
This is the original version of the game which you can download for free, I should stress.
A remake is scheduled to land next month, on 25 April to be exact, but that’s not the game involved here.
There really is though, with that in mind, no better time to experience the original.
