Previously available on PC, Xbox, Meta Quest VR headsets and mobile devices, the creative multiplayer title Roblox is one of the most popular video game properties on the planet.
According to BussinessofApps.com, Roblox made an eye-watering $2.2 billion in 2022, so you can bet your bottom dollar that Sony and PlayStation fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival on the blue brand. That being said, we’re sure the parents of the 10-year-old who spent £2,500 on the game or the parent's of the child who splashed an entire family’s Christmas budget weren't quite as excited as some.

When the free-to-play Roblox was announced for PlayStation in September this year, it should have been a joyous moment for fans. Unfortunately, the launch of Roblox on PlayStation hasn't gone as planned some certain gamers.

“Roblox on PlayStation… it’s so bad,” warned Redditor Professional-Paper75 sparking discussion on the thread. “The entire experience is horrible. They’ve put zero effort into localising this to PlayStation. The menus are gross to navigate and often glitch out being unable to leave a conversation and the movement is hypersensitive”
The Redditor continued: “The UI is basically an identical copy and paste from PC, complete with Xbox button indicators. The avatar customise/purchase screens don’t load items, don’t appear to be able to quickly equip purchased items and are just not fun to navigate. I’ll admit I’ve never played much Roblox in the past, but goddam - how do people enjoy this so much?”
“My guess is that since Roblox is a series of different games made by users, each of those games was not made with consoles in mind. Have you tried other games on Roblox to see if these issues are consistent?” suggests SimonFaust.
“This is my assumption as well. I wonder if Roblox gave their creators any tools to build for PlayStation or if they were just expected to fend for themselves once it was released,” replied KhajiitKennedy. “I bet it won't take long but considering a majority of the games are made by children (who are severely underpaid for their work btw) most games will probably just stick to being PC games.”

Roblox has been soaked in controversy with strong allegations of its practice of encouraging children to make its content with accusations of low payments to creators.
“Welcome to tomorrow! Roblox outsources all of its development costs to you! The player! It's video game socialism! Except these are kids making the content! Nothing like no-cost child labour for profit! Join Roblox today, the no-cost, all-loss video game! Make those billionaires even more rich!” exclaimed IxoraRains. “I watched a really eye-opening YouTube video (from People Make Games) about that last year. I'd completely forgotten how bad a practice it is until reading your comment,” Andyman286 responded.
Roblox is available now on most platforms.
