If you’ve got your eye on the upcoming Dynasty Warriors Origins, then you’ll be happy to hear that Steam has a demo available for you to try out the game right now.

It’s the latest iteration in the long-running franchise that will provide a great jumping on point for new players, while still catering to those who have played many of the older releases. Now you can try it on Steam, before you buy it.

Dynasty Warriors Origins is a great place to start with the franchise

The demo is available now, and it gives you a good taste of what to expect in the full release.

Reviews have started pouring in and, so far, it’s 2025’s best reviewed game.

I know, we’re not that far into the year, but if this is a look at things to come, then we’re in for a stellar year.

Dynasty Warriors Origin is currently sitting on a Metacritic score of 80 after 48 critic reviews, with many of them championing this new step in the series.

Our own Sam Cawley has been playing it, and he had this to say in his 8/10 review: “Dynasty Warriors Origins is a fantastic starting point for those new to the series like I was. The storytelling felt concise and easy-to-follow, the gameplay was endlessly entertaining, and it never felt like I was stepping into unknown territory.”

While I’m yet to try the game for myself, it looks like this will be a great point for those who have always eyed the series from afar to get stuck in.

The combat is as chaotic and frenetic as it has ever been, however, it will slowly introduce you to the Musou genre.

With a campaign set across many battlefields, there will be plenty for you to sink your teeth into if you choose to buy the game once you’ve tried the demo.
