Cyberpunk 2077 is celebrating its recent update but alongside some brand-new features and content, fans have been left feeling conflicted over a social media post by CD Projekt RED.

This week welcomed Update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 which aimed to make the world of Night City feel more alive than ever.

With brand-new cars, quests, an updated photomode, the arrival of autodrive and even a Delamain Taxi Service, Update 2.3 is in full swing and fans are taking it as just another excuse to dive back into one of the best RPGs of all time.

CD Projekt RED praises itself for listening to fans so over the last week, it has been present on social media to listen to player’s thoughts over the new update.

However, it was not long before one fan asked about one area of contention in Cyberpunk 2077 - its lack of third-person mode.

As of right now, Cyberpunk 2077 can only be experienced in first-person but some mods allow it to be playable in third-person.

That being said, it seems as though CDPR has no plans on officially introducing third-person to Cyberpunk 2077 or its upcoming sequel.

This comes after one fan said “Add third person perspective” to which the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account replied, “Sorry, we have no such plans.”

News of this interaction then broke over on r/cyberpunkgame and fans were left feeling conflicted over the update.

“Frankly the third-person perspective is a dumb a*s thing to ask for,” one user said.

“It would take a fairly large studio to redo all the animations and a very long time to do all of it over. At least 6 months to probably over a year.”

User TheRealMacDan agreed, adding, “The game is almost five years old. It’s time to accept that certain things aren’t happening.”

However, user Lvolf has always hoped for a third-person perspective.

“I am one of those people who wanted an optional third-person perspective before launch,” they revealed.

“I hope the next game has it but I would still buy it.”

It is highly doubtful that Cyberpunk 2 will feature a third-person mode as it will completely change the vibe of the hit RPG.

However, with many fans asking for it on a regular basis, we may just be surprised.
