A God of War live-action series is on the way, although you shouldn’t expect it anytime soon.
The series is in the works at Prime Video, but has already been through one creative team overhaul so fair to say, it sounds as if the streamer is struggling to land on a vision.
The latest update saw Ronald D. Moore drafted in as showrunner, perhaps best known for his work on Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, and For All Mankind.

While God of War isn’t exactly sci-fi, Moore can likely bring his ability to manage sprawling, fantastical worlds to the project so that certainly bodes well.
Beyond that, details are completely non-existent.
We’re definitely not at the stage where casting is underway; we could go through another creative overhaul before then.
But that hasn’t stopped fans from discussing who might play the God of War himself, Kratos.

ICYMI: The Last of Us’ second season premieres next month on 13 April.
I have to say, there’s one man for the job in my opinion and that’s Christopher Judge.
Judge, of course, portrayed Kratos in both God of War and God of War Ragnarök. That combined with the fact that the actor somehow also manages to have the physique of a god, well, that looks like easy casting to me.

And while many are on board with my line of thinking, fans have thrown a variety of names into the hat.
“In my opinion, I think Hugh Jackman would be perfect,” wrote Reddit user PainWillNeverWin.
“Hugh Jackman I think could make a great Mimir. I stand by Judge being Kratos in the live-action God of War,” replied jasontodd67.
“Why hasn't anyone said Dave Bautista? He's the best actor among former wrestlers turned actors,” said solojones1138.

“Honestly anyone other than Chris Judge and I’m gonna be pissed. Dude would be perfect,” offered M1ster_Bear.
Pedro Pascal, Gerard Butler, and Jason Momoa were also all thrown into the mix.
I’m thrilled to see that so many have joined me in jumping on the Judge train, but that doesn’t mean it’s what we’ll eventually see in the live-action show.
I suppose we can only cross our fingers that the end result lives up to our expectation.
