God Of War players are confused by a brand-new update for God Of War Ragnarok, one that seemingly does nothing until someone figures out its purpose.
It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for God Of War, as the series only recently wrapped up its 20th anniversary celebrations.
It did so with some free goodies for God Of War Ragnarok, mainly character and weapons skins from the series’ history
That’s right it’s been 20 years since our angry little demi-god Kratos first graced our PlayStation consoles, and arguably pushed the boundaries of violence in video games.

He’s mellowed down since then, but God Of War fans haven’t as they’ve been frantically trying to figure out what a mysterious new update for God Of War Ragnarok does.
Chances are it does absolutely nothing, as since version 6.05 dropped on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 Santa Monica Studios hasn’t said a word about it, nor has anyone noticed any differences to gameplay or additional content.
It’s probably just big fixes and the like, but you never know maybe it’s a precursor to something bigger.
Speaking of something bigger, many are still holding out hope for PlayStation 5 remakes of the God Of War trilogy, likely starting with the first game rather than all three at once.

There have been plenty of rumours and industry insiders pointing to them happening, with many expecting the 20th anniversary to be a prime opportunity for them to be announced, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.
Never say never though, we likely will see some remakes at some point, it definitely feels like a case of when not if.
In the meantime the only new God Of War content on the horizon is the Amazon Prime TV show in the works, I’ve got high hopes for it as the Fallout series was very good.
