You can currently claim some Assassin’s Creed Shadows freebies if you’re playing the game on PlayStation, although users have already spotted that you might run into a bit of an issue claiming them.
After a production marred with delays and controversy, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally here, and apparently it’s actually pretty good.
To celebrate, Sony and Ubisoft are teaming up to dish out some free collectables for the title, but it seems there’s a bit of a technical hiccup that’s preventing some players from grabbing them.

For the next three months, PlayStation Stars users can get their hands on two Assassin’s Creed Shadows collectable trophies by completing certain challenges in the game.
You can currently get your hands on the "Naoe Hidden Blade" and "Yasuke Katana" freebies, but one player on the r/playstationstars subreddit has pointed out that getting the latter one to trigger may be impossible for some.
"Already got prologue trophy," commented user New-Ebb61, "Oh well..."
"They are retroactive if you got the trophy before the campaign came out," replied user The-Night-King.

"But if the campaign was already out and you got the trophy before clicking start, you might not be able to get it. There’s a chance support could help but they are often useless.”
The commenters are referring to the "Yasuke Katana" collectable here, which requires you to complete Assassin’s Creed Shadows’s “Prologue” trophy to claim it.
The issue is, if you nabbed this trophy before the PlayStation Stars campaign started, it’s probably not going to trigger. Unfortunately, that means you’ll miss out on it forever.
It sounds like this is a pretty common problem with PlayStation Stars too, based on the comments, so I highly doubt Sony is going to roll out a fix for it.

All this could probably be solved by just launching the PlayStation Stars campaign before the game actually comes out but, hey, what do I know?
