The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has become even bigger thanks to a free expansion you can download right now.
Despite not receiving the same love The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim gets, Oblivion is still a fantastic Bethesda RPG that’s worth playing today.
Speaking of Bethesda RPGs, the live-action Fallout show is available now, check out our chat with the cast below
Fortunately you can play it on PC via Steam, and it’s also a backwards compatible title for modern Xbox consoles.

Today though we’re specifically talking about the PC version, as with the right mods installed it can be transformed into a completely different game that rivals even Skyrim at its peak.
One mod, called Journey to the Centre of Nirn, is the size of an official DLC expansion and will add plenty of hours onto your existing playthrough.
The official description from the mod’s creator, Samtheson, states: “Follow in the footsteps of a famous explorer and seek the truth about a long forgotten city.”
It’s said the expansion took two years to develop, and will give players over 80 new locations to explore, around100 brand-new scripted events not found in the base game and plenty of secrets to unearth during gameplay.

Obviously the best part about the mod is it’s entirely free, and can be downloaded right now from NexusMods.
Oblivion is well-worth playing if you haven’t already, or if it’s been a while and you fancy some nostalgic fun.
Of course it’s also worth suggesting you try The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind as well, in addition to Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas if the recent live-action show has got you in the mood.
PC players can not only experience these games at their peak, but also with added enhancements thanks to a variety of mods.
