Hogwarts Legacy has genuinely never looked better thanks to the power of mods, with graphics that look like they belong to the next-generation.
It’s 2024, so while we look ahead to this year’s upcoming releases you best believe there’s some stragglers left from 2023 who refuse to be left behind. One such game is Hogwarts Legacy, which wrapped things up as the best-selling game of the year.
It also finally released on Nintendo Switch, the trailer of which can be seen below
While a Hogwarts Legacy 2 is all but confirmed given the first game’s success, it hasn’t stopped fans from continuously tweaking the wizarding world adventure with the latest mods. Some add new content to the game, some make hilarious alterations to existing content, like my personal favourite which swaps the wands for guns, and of course, graphical improvements.

In this video, you’ll see an example of what I’m talking about. One player has given their game a glorious graphical overhaul and is now running the game at 8K using an RTX 4090 with DLSS 3 and RTX on. There’s even ray tracing for extra measure.
It almost looks too good, with every texture and reflection looking exceptional thanks to the extra power of the hardware. Combat in particular has never looked better. Violently flinging flashy and vibrant spells at dark wizards felt incredible before it looked almost lifelike.
The results speak for themselves and it’s a crying shame that everyone who plays can’t experience the same levels of graphical brilliance. Alas, only PC players have the option to fiddle around with their graphical settings on such a scale, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch players will just have to accept what they were given, I’m very sorry Switch fans…
For those looking to replicate the results of the video, there are plenty of tutorials available online, and NexusMods has an abundance of mods to enhance your gameplay.
