Fallout New Vegas gets a huge content update with the Fallout: New California mod, telling an original story fans won’t want to miss.
Whilst enduring the long wait for Fallout 5, which Bethesda won’t be starting development on until Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI are out of the way, Fallout fans are forced to replay existing titles in the series.
Starfield is almost here, check out the gameplay trailer below
There are certainly worse fates though, as Fallout games are practically designed to be replayed, with a wide range of different quests, builds, and playstyles to be explored.

Out of all available games, Obsidian Entertainment’s Fallout New Vegas still reigns supreme, often considered to be the greatest Fallout game ever made, no doubt due to its compelling narrative, open world, and an avalanche of mods developed for the game post-launch.
One such mod is titled Fallout: New California, created by Thaiauxn, which “adds an all-new story with hours of voiced dialogue, a new world, and multiple branching narrative paths.” It’s also said to be an unofficial prequel story for Fallout: New Vegas.
The mod can be downloaded from Nexus Mods and adds an entire game’s worth of new content.
Players will create a new character who emerges from Vault 18, embarking on a new adventure through the Mojave wasteland where there’ll meet several new characters. The mod places a focus on the New California Republic faction, but features others as well, like the all-powerful Super Mutants, and The Enclave to name a few.

It’ll also feature some new radio stations, as well as some new companions provided players meet the right requirements to find/recruit them.
Fallout: New California joins several other expansion mods, like the Silent Hill-inspired Fallout: Whispering Hills, the “gigantic” Fallout: The Frontier, and the Brotherhood of Steel story-expansion, Fallout: The Brothers In Arms.
All of those mods, and many more, can be downloaded and installed from Nexus Mods right now.
