Overhaul the game's movement with this handy mod

Fair to say, Prime Video’s Fallout adaptation is a colossal success.

The series is hugely entertaining for fans both old and new - and it’s hard to come away from watching without wanting to dive straight into Bethesda’s acclaimed video game series, whether that’s for the first time or as a returning player.

For that reason, many of us likely found ourselves turning to Fallout 4 when the final episode drew to a close.

Fallout 76 or Fallout New Vegas may have also caught your eye but Fallout 4’s new-gen update ensured it received the most attention.

It was exciting to see the game’s player count soar but as enjoyable as the new-gen update was, it didn’t exactly blow our socks off.

Let’s face it, we’re all desperately awaiting the launch of Fallout 5 but the truth is that that game is many, many years away.

We’re going to have to make do with Fallout 4, even if the new-gen update is slightly lacking in long-term interest.

Of course, we can always turn to the world of mods and one particular creation is proving to be pretty popular as it overhauls the game’s troubled movement.

ICYMI: We played snog, marry, irradiate with the cast of Fallout. Take a look at the video below.

As reported by PCGamesN, ‘Enhanced Movement’ by NexusMods user bp42s is a handy new download.

Essentially, it’s a deep reworking of the game’s various movement methods.

The mod allows you to slide, gain momentum, and use directional movement speeds, totally transforming the gameplay experience.

The slide function is compared to that which you’ll find in Call of Duty, Titanfall 2, or Apex Legends - and yes, you can shoot or attack whilst sliding.

Sprint momentum allows you to build up some bonus speed. As for directional movement speed, you’ll move 25% slower if you’re backpedaling and 15% slower while strafing.

Sprinting out of combat will now cost 0 AP, but AP will drain during swimming based on your ability.

Finally, falling from a large height will now initiate a stumble/landing animation in both third and first person.

All in all, it’s a great quality of life overhaul that adds a nice bit of extra added detail into this Bethesda masterpiece.

It’s free to download right now from NexusMods.
