Fallout 4 just got a brand-new 'expansion' you can download now

Up to three hours of new content!

Bethesda is assumedly hard at work on The Elder Scrolls VI.

I say assumedly because there could, in theory, be a second Starfield expansion on the way sooner than that.

It’s something Todd Howard has previously made reference to with the going theory being that it would centre around the Starborn.

Nothing has formally been announced and due to the lacklustre response to Shattered Space, I sense that Bethesda is going to be wary of releasing what might be classed as a dud.

It’s with all this in mind that The Elder Scrolls VI likely remains several years away from launch, let alone Fallout 5.

We’re in for a long, long wait, Fallout fans, but that doesn’t mean that we cannot have fun in the meantime.

A second season of Prime Video’s TV adaptation is in the works, and those on PC have the advantage of being able to expand the Fallout 4 experience via mods.

One new addition is a fan expansion known as ‘Hunter’s Abyss’ that you’re likely going to want to download.

ICYMI: We played snog, marry, irradiate with the cast of Fallout.

Created by NexusMods user Lonnie667, ‘Hunter’s Abyss’ adds a brand new land in the southern part of the Glowing Sea named, you guessed it, the Abyss.

This is an area where “radiation pours down and creatures are larger and more violent,” teases the mod’s creator.

With new weapons, armour, and magazines, as well as a new player home and settlement area, there’s plenty in this mod to keep you entertained and busy.

The new area was inspired, so says the creator, by The Divide in New Vegas, adding in a super mutant trader known as Hunter.

You’ll be able to find his cave in the north west of Fiddler’s Green where he resides alongside his mutant dog Cuddles.

It’s Hunter who will direct you to the Abyss, where you’ll need to fight for your life against some nasty monstrosities.

The mod’s NPCs are fully voiced and in total, the mod provides two to three hours of extra content.

The creator urges players to explore, noting, “There is quite a bit hidden throughout.”

You can download the mod for free right now via NexusMods so if you’re on PC and want to get involved, don’t delay.
