Cyberpunk 2077 publisher GOG is giving players the chance to get their hands on an all-time classic game and even more exciting, it’s totally free!
First released way back in 2004, FlatOut is an “adrenaline-filled muscle car racing game packed with explosive physics, spectacular effects and graphics, innovative gameplay mechanics and good old fun.” Developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the combat racing game can see you play with up to eight players (or good old fashioned AI) in the single player career mode, quick races and time trials.
FlatOut also features 16 fully upgradeable vehicles, 48 tracks including stunt arenas and destruction bowls and of course, the wacky ragdoll physics we all know and love. With open environments, you can race where you like and even take a shortcut to overtake your opponents. Additionally, vehicles still have impressive handling and “impressive damage modeling” despite being a 2004 classic.

From now until 22 February, GOG, owned by CD Projekt Red (the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077), is giving players the chance to download FlatOut for free for PC users. With fans agreeing that the series lost its charm as its sequels were released, its original is definitely not one to miss out on.
One five-star review reads: “I grew up driving big American cars around a farm and FlatOut does a great job of bringing those memories back. FlatOut is a fun, crashing ride around dirt roads where you get to do a lot of damage to your car and others.”

Another agreed, saying: “This game is just plain fun. No need to worry about car mechanics or over the top customisations, just select a race and play!... All in all an impressive game for 2004.”
With the game currently sitting at a “very positive” rating on Steam, fans of the combat racing genre should definitely check out this all-time classic if they want some old-fashioned racing fun.
