Fallout: Vault 666 is a brand-new adventure you can check out now

A brand-new Fallout-inspired mod for the original 1995 classic Doom II just dropped, and it’s a match made in hell (that’s just a pun, the mod looks really good).

Thank you in advance to John Papadopoulos over on Dark Side of Gaming for originally highlighting this mod!

Fallout: Vault 666 is a new WAD for Doom II, developed by first-time mod creator Carl Asami. Also, the mod description is one of the rawest things I’ve ever read in my life. Seriously, just give this a read because it goes hard.

“You were chosen by THE OVERSEER to enter VAULT 666 and locate THE WATER CHIP. If you fail, your home, your friends, and your PET BUNNY will perish. Traveling the Wasteland, your investigations lead you to a CAVE ENTRANCE,” reads the description on ModDB.

“But what's this? No vault dwellers in sight, but more mutants than you can shake a boomstick at! It stinks like rotten meat! So, pump that POWER FIST, rev that RIPPER, and unload your 10MM, right into the face of HELL! Welcome to VAULT 666!”

Who's excited for DOOM: The Dark Ages?

Now this isn't just some Fallout skin draped over a Doom game. There's a whole bunch of new content in here, including weapons, chems and even Dogmeat!

The weapons include some Fallout staples too, such as the Powerfist, the Ripper, the Colt 6520, the H&K L30 Gatling Laser, and the Turbo Plasma Rifle. Plus, you can even find Jet, Psycho, and Nuka-Cola in vending machines spread throughout the map.

The mod author also seems to imply that there’s some kind of special ending you can unlock by making it all the way to the end while keeping Dogmeat alive, which is something I hope you’d be doing anyway.

If you’re curious, you can head on over to ModDB and get your hands on Fallout: Vault 666 immediately. I know what I’ll be doing with my evening.
