August has been a hectic month.
Between Gamescom’s Opening Night Live and the launch of Star Wars Outlaws, it’s been somewhat difficult to keep up with everything that’s been going on.
That’s why you may have missed the release of Mika and the Witch’s Mountain and I feel it necessary to set this right.

Launched on 21 August, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is what you might call a cosy game that tasks players with delivering parcels.
Think of it as if Studio Ghibli’s stunning Kiki’s Delivery Service was a game, although there’s a dash of The Legend of Zelda in there too.
Made by indie developers Chibig and Nukefist, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is one of the most delightful things I’ve played as of late - and it just so happens that you can try it for free.
Emio - The Smiling Man launches on Nintendo Switch today.
“This coming-of-age journey will take us to the top of the mountain through a story of effort, friendship, and community; and will let our hearts fly free,” the synopsis reads.

“Take your magic broom and discover all the secrets hidden in the mountain while getting to know its charming inhabitants. Work hard and get a magic broom good enough to achieve your goal: to go to the top of the mountain.”
It’s through the delivery of packages that Mika will be able to upgrade her broom in a bid to reach the top of the mountain.
In our review of the game, we said, “Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is as short as it is sweet, and while it might not be the most stunningly original or captivating game released this year, it has so much heart that it’s impossible not to lose yourself in its charming world and cast of characters.”
As I said, you can sample the game for free thanks to a new demo that’s launched on the Nintendo eShop.

Simply head over to the store and search for the game and the demo should appear.
If you then want to pick up the full launch, it’s currently on offer for £15.29 until 20 September.
