If you’re looking for a cosy game that’s perfectly suited to fans of both The Legend of Zelda and Valheim, you need look no further than My Time at Sandrock.
This delightful life sim launched exactly one year ago, garnering a very respectable score of 80 over on Metacritic.
The reason I want to remind you of its existence is because a brand new free demo has launched to celebrate the game’s one year anniversary.

Nintendo Switch players can now sample this Pathea Games gem via the Nintendo eShop, with a free demo also available now on the Xbox Store.
A PlayStation 5 demo is set to follow in ‘mid November’, so do stay tuned for that.
If you’re not familiar with My Time at Sandrock, it sees builders take on the role of a fledgling builder who’s recently arrived in the desert community of, you guessed it, Sandrock.
“Use your trusty toolset to gather resources, construct machines, and turn your run-down workshop into a well-oiled production facility to save the town from the jaws of economic ruin,” reads the game’s synopsis.

Speaking of cosy games, LEGO Horizon Adventures launches on 14 November.
If you like what you play, you can pick up the full game for £30.59, also from the eShop - although it’s seemingly cheaper to pick up a physical edition on Switch, as they’re currently retailing for around £27.99.
It’s a great time to sample the demo, as if you do decide to hop into the full release, it’s just launched its free Update 1.4.

The update introduces new post-marriage quests for various characters, as well as new romance quests, new friendship quests, a new bus system, new floor decorations, and an enhanced home editing mode.
There’s also a new paid DLC, Love Chronicles, which you can purchase as an add on for yet even more romance quests.
As I said though, there’s no need to part with any cash before sampling that free demo.
There’s actually a new entry in the franchise on the way, as if you needed another reason why now is a good time to sample the series.

My Time at Evershine is seemingly set in a lush Ghibli-esque world.
While no launch date has been confirmed, dev Pathea Games did tease that it’ll launch on Nintendo Switch systems, which smells a lot like the Nintendo Switch 2 to me.
For now though, hop on over to the eShop and give My Time at Sandrock a whirl.
