A new Nintendo Switch game has dropped a free demo for all to download, giving you a taste of what’s to come.
Demos are great because you can experience a small slice of the game before deciding if you want to spend money on the full product.
We all know the pain of putting down 50 quid on something, only to realise the game was actually a bit naff. So, it’s nice to be able to try before you buy.

On the other end of the spectrum, if you try a demo for a game you had no interest in, you may actually end up popping it on your wishlist.
Check out the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement. It's only one more day until the Direct!
Nintendo Switch now has a new demo for the upcoming game The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.

Developed by Aniplex, the game is due to be released on 23 April, 2025.
Since the game pre-order costs £49.99, Aniplex has launched a demo on the eShop for players to try before they buy. After all, you may enjoy it or you may not.
The official eShop store description reads: “When Takumi Sumino wakes up in a strange school surrounded by otherworldly fire, all he wants is to go home. But his self-appointed 'Commanding Officer,' Sirei, has other ideas. Takumi and the other students are tasked with defending the school from grotesque monsters known as School Invaders for the next 100 days, with the fate of humanity itself on the line."
It continues, “What is Last Defense Academy? Who are the School Invaders? And what is the truth behind this war?”

The developer then goes on to say the player has a choice in affecting how the story may progress, where you alternate between combat and story-heavy scenes. Making specific choices will also affect the outcome of the ending.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy also has Nintendo Switch Online features present, although the extent of what this involves is not yet known.
Considering the Switch 2 is also just around the corner, it’s possible a next-gen version may also be in development.
