Nintendo reveals console and bundle price for Nintendo Switch 2

Price and pre-order date acquired

It wasn’t mentioned in the actual Nintendo Direct, which is a very Nintendo thing to do, but we have a price and pre-order date!

Pre-orders for Switch 2 will open on 8 April, in just a few days. And the console will cost £395.99, or £429.99 with Mario Kart World.

We have a price and pre-order date for Switch 2.

If you’ve been saving your pennies, now is the time to open your wallet, as that’s a little more than we all thought it would be.

Fans have been rampantly speculating the price of Nintendo’s follow-up console, with many believing it would top out around £400, or $400.

Well, it looks like they weren’t far off. We now know that the base console will be available on 5 June 2025, for just shy of that marker, at £395.99.

Some may consider that to be a high mark-up, however, with the new technology, upgraded visuals, surround sound, and mouse controls, it feels pretty reasonable.

Not to forget, this console is 4K on TVs, and can run some games up to 120fps.

According to sources, it appears the US pricing for the console will run in at $449.99USD.

Nintendo had a stellar showing for the Switch 2 in their Direct presentation, showcasing GameCube emulation, a wealth of games, upgraded versions of Switch games, chat functionality, too.

It certainly seems that tariff fears for US customers are no issue here.

When can you pre-order the console? Both the base unit, plus the bundled option with Mario Kart World, are available for pre-order on 8 April, worldwide.

Expect these to sell like hot cakes, considering the hype of the console, and the long wait we’ve had while Nintendo has been cooking up a storm.

Will you be pre-ordering a console where you are, and joining in the fun on launch day?
