Assassin’s Creed fans can currently grab some free PlayStation Store credit right now, but… well, let me explain how before you deem it worth actually following through with.
Thank you in advance to Push Square’s Sammy Barker and Stephen Tailby for the source on this one!
Ubisoft and Sony have teamed up to offer players a little reward through the PlayStation App, provided they’re ready to shell out some extra cash in the process (of course).

Until the end of this month, PlayStation Stars users can earn themselves 50 free PlayStation Points by purchasing Assassin's Creed Shadows from the PlayStation Store.
“Players can't seem to get enough of these trending titles,” reads the PlayStation Stars store description.
“Dive right into the discussion by buying any one of the great games below to stay up to date on the hottest topics in gaming and score some Points in the process!”
Now, I don’t actually bother with the PlayStation Stars app much myself, but uh… that’s a pretty paltry reward, no?

Don’t you need like 1,000 PlayStation Points to actually convert that into PlayStation Store credit? So they want you to buy a new, full price digital game just so you can earn like 50p in the process? Seems a little bit tight to me, but maybe my math is off.
On the plus side, you can earn something even more worthless for free instead!
Assassin’s Creed Shadows players can unlock the Assassin's Creed Shadows Iconic Hidden Blade and Assassin's Creed Shadows Samurai Katana digital trophies through the PlayStation Stars app by completing certain challenges in the game, until June 20.
Look, I’m sure all these points eventually add up, but is anyone out there actually like “oh, I have to buy this new AAA game today so I don’t miss my points”? Surely not.
