If you thought Bethesda was only focused on Starfield right now you’d be wrong, as the developers have just launched a massive new Fallout update that’s free to download. The patch in question is version 1.0.85.0 for Fallout 76, and is available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to introduce gamers to Season 14.
There’s a lot to unpack in this download, so we’ll try to be concise and straight to the point as much as possible. The main takeaway from this update is that you’ll get a new companion, access to two additional Perks, new skins, and a whole host of quality-of-life improvements that are long overdue.
Ready for Fallout 76's Fight for Freedom? Then watch this preview!
For those wanting to see the full list of changes, head to the Fallout website for details. Should you only be interested in the updates pertaining to Season 14, here’s an overview for you:

SEASON 14: FIGHT FOR FREEDOM
United we stand, marching towards America's bright future! This Patriotic season includes new C.A.M.P. items, armour skins and more!
- New Ally: Grandma Junko is on a mission to find her grandchildren... she thinks. While her memory isn't what it used to be, she can still cook up a good old-fashioned home-cooked meal for you.
- Presidential Power Armor Skins: Who needs Secret Service when you have Power Armor?
- Oval Office: Create your own base of operations with the Oval Office Rug and Wallpaper.
- Autominer Collectron: This new Collectron does all the mining for you, hunting for Ore!
We’re especially eager to meet Grandma Junko after seeing so many fans fall in love with her instantly. Gotta love those Bethesda NPCs, am I right? Of course, while this new companion is thrilling news, we’re also interested in Fallout 76’s upcoming Birthday Event, which will run from 7 November until 21 November to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the game’s release.

We’re stoked to head out and discover more adventures, all while wearing some sweet Power Armour skins. However, if your interest is waning in the games, perhaps due to Starfield launching next week (!!!), you might want to watch the first trailer for Amazon’s Fallout TV series. Nobody was expecting a trailer to drop quite this soon, but we’ll never look a gift horse in the mouth.
We hope you enjoy all the little additions, fixes, and improvements so that your life outside the Vault isn’t as gnarly as a ghoul looking to chow down on you.
