The Last of Us’ first season has finally drawn to a close. Who’s recovered from that finale episode? I certainly haven’t.
‘Look for the Light’ (spoilers ahead) has certainly split viewers, with many debating whether Joel’s actions were justified or whether he’s utterly in the wrong. It’s a debate that we won’t be settling anytime soon seeing as the Firefly hospital shootout very much kickstarts The Last of Us Part II’s narrative. Did you notice that video game Abby actress Laura Bailey made a cameo during the episode’s climactic sequence? Speaking of Part II, sales of the game have skyrocketed as viewers scramble to find out what’ll unfold in the show’s second season.
The Last of Us Part I launches on PC on 28 March.
Plenty of us watching the show know exactly what to expect. Why? Because we’ve played the games. There are many viewers though who won’t have played them, or perhaps even played the first one but never got around to the sequel. Well, Naughty Dog are laughing all the way to the bank now because sales of The Last of Us Part II are increasing, almost three years after the game was initially released.
Advert
As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, throughout February, The Last of Us Part II proved to be the most-downloaded PlayStation 4 game on the PS Store in both the US/Canada region and in Europe. The Last of Us Remastered came in ninth place in the US/Canada and in seventh place in Europe. Over on the PlayStation 5 charts, The Last of Us Part I came in sixth in the US/Canada, and seventh in Europe.
It certainly helps that The Last of Us Part II was recently included in the PlayStation Store Double Discounts sale. I’ve played the title several times but now that the HBO series has ended, I may have to take it for a spin again.
