The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most popular and lucrative video game properties in the industry and Rockstar Games will no doubt expect the arrival of GTA VI to take the series to new heights.
At the time of writing, we know very little about Grand Theft Auto VI, despite being announced to be in development nearly two years ago. We don’t know the GTA VI release date or story details and we’ve never even seen a trailer.

We’ve had to make do with those infamous gameplay leaks, and many other pieces of speculation, all of which should be taken with a pinch of salt until Rockstar Games officially confirms or reveals something. Most rumours indicate that players will be taken back to the Miami-inspired location of Vice City. The game will also feature two playable characters, Jason and Lucia, inspired by the historic crime duo Bonnie and Clyde.

Originally released on 17 September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, this weekend saw the 10th anniversary of the iconic Grand Theft Auto V, which later arrived on other platforms including PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Fans have been starved of any kind of substantial update by Rockstar Games on the progress of GTA VI and this week would have been the perfect opportunity to at least throw the community a bone to chew on. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Rockstar Games did address the 10th anniversary of GTA V, but judging by the many social media reactions, it’s fair to say this is not what the community wanted.
“Today, on the official 10th Anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, we would like to thank you, our players, for your incredible support over the years.” tweeted Rockstar Games in the first of three tweets.
It continued: “This amazing community is the reason GTA V has thrived across multiple console generations and given us the opportunity to grow and update GTA Online with new features and content over these past 10 years, and your support is truly humbling.

“When is GTA VI coming out?” and “Announce GTA VI” were very common replies on the Rockstar Games Twitter thread, and the reactions on Reddit were no different.
“Obviously I didn't expect anything big, but I would be lying if I said I didn't have the tiniest of hopes for a trailer,” said Redditor ToppleToes. “But the fact that they didn't give us anything to be excited for GTA V's 10th anniversary is such a letdown. A couple of t-shirts, a free car and content locked behind the stupid GTA subscription. What a letdown. GTA VI better blow our f*****g minds, Rockstar.”
“Yeah it's a bit tedious how Rockstar hasn't done anything of note since 2019 but all the people saying: "Just wait, Rockstar will blow us away with GTA VI", of course, they will reveal an awesome game, but the wait has been so long that no matter what they reveal it's going to be a disappointment relatively speaking,” said Nawmp.
“Here’s to many more adventures together” NOOOOO GET ME THE F**K OUT OF LOS SANTOS,” pleaded stitch-is-dope. “Totally gives the vibe that they are prepared to move on from GTA V to VI” added an optimistic ashutosh57.
