Assassin’s Creed Red is shaping up to be another epic entry in the long-running Ubisoft series and after a recent map leak, it looks to be a game set on an enormous scale.
Set in Feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Red will bring shinobi to the historical action-adventure series but with the game quite a way away from release, it is down to leaks to tell us more information. One leak in particular, courtesy of reliable leaker j0nathan, reveals a lot about the upcoming map, enemies, and weapons.

Translated on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the leaker reveals that Assassin’s Creed Red will rely less on hand-holding than the previous entries. This means fewer markers on the map and less guidance, similar to games such as Elden Ring.

Not only that but Red’s map is set to be larger than Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but smaller than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which still suggests that the game is set to be on a colossal scale.
On a gameplay level, there are expected to be a lot of new features including the ability to go prone and hide in tall grass, the introduction of a grapple hook, the ability to hide in shadows and extinguish light to your advantage and more.
The game will reportedly allow us to switch between a male samurai and female shinobi with the female shinobi known as Naoi able to wield kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs and bells. Less is known about the male samurai but there could be a lot more weapons in the game including rumours of gunners known as Ashigaru.
Combat has also seemingly improved with the addition of posture bars meaning you can destabilise enemies. Not only that but NPCs can defend themselves a lot better than in previous entries making for a much more challenging fight.

Last but certainly not least, each camp you liberate will be the home to one commander which you can choose to spare or kill. Killing them will reward you with loot but sparing them will allow you to bring them over to your side and act as a spy for you in the future.
Assassin’s Creed Red is shaping up to be another exciting entry in the much-loved series.
