Following on from the success of HBO’s The Last of Us and Netflix’s The Witcher, we are seemingly in the era of good video game to TV adaptations. However, with previous reports of a God of War inspired show, it wasn’t long before fans began speculating on a potential Kratos.
Recent years have seen an influx of decent game to live-action adaptations including The Last of Us, The Witcher and more recently, Fallout heading to Amazon Prime next month. After a few decades of some shocking ones, the live-action treatment is finally paying off with previous reports that God of War may be receiving the same treatment.

Although a potential God of War Amazon series has already been cancelled according to reports, fans are still hopeful that it will be picked back up in the future and allow us to see the warrior Spartan himself on the big screen.

Voiced and mo-capped by Christopher Judge in 2018’s God of War and 2022’s God of War Ragnarök, Kratos has gone on to become one of the most recognisable faces in gaming. The hulking Spartan warrior is the main protagonist in the action-adventure series alongside his son, Atreus and the two set off on a journey across a Norse mythology inspired land.
As with any potential live-action adaptation, talk soon turned to which actors could take on the infamous roles. However, it seems although there is already one obvious answer for the role of Kratos according to one Twitter user.
“Why is everyone saying that Triple H or Braun Strowman are two of the “perfect” choices for Kratos in a live action project when @iamchrisjudge is LITERALLY THE F**KING GOD OF WAR?!” They asked enthusiastically back in 2022.
To which Judge himself replied, “Co-sign.”

With Judge willing to reprise his role as Kratos, who are we to argue? Hopefully the God of War show will be picked back up in the future with the talented actor at the helm where he belongs.
