Xbox has sneakily dropped a huge update to their services that allow you access to more games than ever.
With pretty much no fanfare, aside from an announcement made on Twitter, it seems that Xbox has now partnered with GeForce NOW to integrate their service into the rival cloud gaming platform.
Xbox Game Pass offers hundreds of great games you can download and play at any time
What this means for you is that you can now stream your game catalogue on GeForce NOW by linking your account to your Xbox account.

According to the Xbox website, “Xbox has partnered with NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Boosteroid to bring first-party titles to more players.”
Essentially, this means that when you choose to stream your games via the cloud you can opt to use the GeForce NOW servers rather than Xbox’ own, meaning more variety for folks where Xbox Cloud Gaming isn’t as well supported.
You can also see this as a big win for quality as, more often than not, the GeForce NOW servers offer a higher bitrate for visual quality, higher framerate for stability, and less latency.
More options generally equals a happy fan base and most Xbox gamers on social media seem thrilled by this update.

Of course, many are asking if we’ll see this transferred over to console as well, or whether we’ll be able to stream our GeForce NOW games to console in the future.
This is only the start of the relationship between the pair, so what the future holds is hard to say, but it’s a step in the right direction if Xbox sees cloud gaming as the next big thing.
It also seems that having a Game Pass subscription will give you access to the same games on GeForce NOW, although they’d likely be the PC versions of the games;
“If you own any of the supported games on the Microsoft Store or have a valid Game Pass subscription, you can stream those titles on NVIDIA GeForce NOW by signing in with your Microsoft account.”
