Microsoft just announced everything they’ve added in this month's version 10.0.26100.2239 Xbox update, which dropped last night (meaning you can download it now if you haven’t already).
Probably the biggest and most important part of the update is the ability to pre-install updates for games.
That might sound a little odd in theory, as you would assume that updates for games would only be available the second they drop. After all, pre-installing a game before its official release date makes sense as it lets you play it as soon as it’s out. But why would an update be available for pre-install beforehand?

Well, it seems these updates will be for games with online multiplayer. Essentially you can pre-download an update, but you won’t be locked out of the online components until said update officially goes live.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches on Xbox this year.
According to the Microsoft Blog, “Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, [and] Cassette Beasts” already support this new function too, which further supports the idea that this new feature is targeting multiplayer titles.

There are also some long-needed updates to the Wish List feature, which means players will now be notified whenever “a game on your wish list is released, enters the Game Pass library, or becomes available as part of a Free Play Day promotion”.
Kinda baffling they didn’t already have that one set up on day one, seems like easy money to me.
PC players are getting some love too, with newly added ways to manage your library of games through the Xbox App. You can now, thankfully, install any add-on content you have associated with a game alongside said game (instead of having to hunt it all down individually).
PC gamers can also now use the Game Bar Compact Mode, which will allow them to browse their library of games with much more ease (as well as quickly close and open games through the Home menu).
