Kai Cenat, one of Twitch’s most popular streamers, was recently subjected to racist and homophobic slurs from his teammates during a Modern Warfare II stream.
As reported by Dexterto, Cenat is Twitch's most-subscribed-to streamer and boasts an incredible 3.2 million followers.
This isn’t the first time that Cenat has experienced the wrath of online trolls. Earlier this year, the streamer was swatted and if you don’t know what that is, it’s when someone makes a hoax call to emergency services resulting in armed police raiding your home. This time around, on 28 November, Cenat received racial and homophobic abuse mid-stream from his own teammates.

To drown out the slurs, Cenat attempted to shout over his teammates before eventually deciding to confront the trolls. “Well, I would be f**king mad if I was f**king broke and… didn’t know what to do for the rest of my f**king life,” Cenat said (Via Dexerto). “You’re a thirty-year-old f**king bastard, you f**king b**ch.”
“I’m gonna steal your Bud Lite and your cigarettes and shove it up your sister’s a, you f**king f**ker. You dumba** b**ch. Enjoy the student loans, b*Ich,” he continued.
Toxic language isn’t only aimed at those with large followings though. In fact, Activision has noted the toxicity experienced by all players in voice chat and are working to resolve the issue.
In a recent blog post, it was announced that an updated reporting system would allow moderators to limit the features players have access to. If players are found to be engaging in offensive voice chat, they will be muted from all in-game voice chat features. It’s a similar case with text chat. The system also applies in Warzone 2.0 so hopefully, a healthier environment will be fostered moving forwards.
