Twisted Metal fans are desperate for Sony to give them a PlayStation 5 remake, and we don’t blame them.
Back in the days of the original PlayStation, Twisted Metal was one of Sony’s flagship properties, spawning a total of five games on its OG console from 1995 to 2001.
The series would then make its leap into the then next-gen console on PS2 with Twisted Metal: Black in 2001, an entry that to this day, many fans consider to be the peak of the franchise.
In the years that followed, Twisted Metal would see multiple releases on Sony platforms including home and handheld consoles. The last entry in the series was for PlayStation 3 in 2012 and with it now being over a decade since its last release, fans are wondering when the next game might arrive.

It really is quite baffling to think that this beloved series has been dormant for so long and the closest thing we’ve had to a revival, is the recently announced TV series starring Captain America’s, Anthony Mackie.
“I want a Twisted Metal remake if y’all know what that is,” said Redditor Hextallfan68 opening up the discussion on the thread while taking a jab at the series exodus. The thread was not short of Redditors also wanting this iconic PlayStation series to make a triumphant return.

“Of course, we know what it is!” replied BeardedBrotherAK. “But for those who don't know: A remake is when they take an old game and make it again but with better graphics and sometimes more content.”
“A faithful remake with the same characters without butchering them would be an instant buy from me,” said TLaMagna319. “Yes I want this with full PVP and balanced cars!” added Xervinza.
It remains to be seen whether or not Sony will one day give us a new Twisted Metal game that fans have been craving for so long. To be somewhat of an optimist, if the upcoming TV series proves to be a success, hopefully, we’ll finally get our wish.
