One Star Wars character is getting a major recast in an upcoming series, and now fans have just had their first official look.
Star Wars is no stranger to recasts. Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi are perfect examples of actors that can take the original performance and capture the same spirit of it.
In some cases, recasting is necessary when the original actor has died between productions.

While Andor creator Tony Gilroy has already confirmed that one character is being recast for Season 2, one major figure from the Ahsoka series is also receiving a recast for its second season.
Ahsoka's first season aired in 2023, with Season 2 due to begin filming soon.
During Star Wars Celebration this past weekend, images of Rory McCann as former Jedi Baylan Skoll were revealed during the Ahsoka panel.

The images show him wearing dark robes and wielding a red lightsaber, similar to the character's appearance in Season 1.
McCann is known for his roles in Game of Thrones and Hot Fuzz. He also recently appeared in film blockbusters like Gladiator 2 and Jumanji: The Next Level.
He joins Rosario Dawson, Lars Mikkelsen, Eman Esfandi, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a main cast member. We also know that Hayden Christensen will also return in some shape or form as Anakin Skywalker.
McCann replaces Ray Stevenson, who died in 2023 from a brief illness prior to the airing of Ahsoka Season 1.

Stevenson was known for his earlier TV roles in Rome, Dexter, and Black Sails.
He was also a Star Wars alumnus prior to his Ahsoka role, voicing Gar Saxon in both The Clone Wars and Rebels. McCann and Stevenson were friends, and he was reportedly given the blessing of his partner to succeed the role.
During the panel at Star Wars Celebration, Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni called Stevenson "the most beautiful person on screen and off."
He also revealed that Season 2 of Ahsoka is due to begin filming very soon.

Considering this, we can take a guess that the season might be ready to air on Disney Plus some time in 2026.
