The reviews for the latest Star Wars TV show are in, and it seems like The Mandalorian has some stiff competition.
The first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew debuted on Disney+ earlier today to rave reviews, earning it a 93% positive critical score and a 92% audience score over on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now, that’s only as of writing. During the time it’s taken me to write this, the score has jumped up twice as reviews continue to be collated.

One thing is for sure though - Star Wars: Skeleton Crew seems to be a bigger hit with audiences than The Mandalorian.
So, to be completely fair, the first season of The Mandalorian actually has the same critic and audience score as Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (sitting at a 93% and a 92% respectively).
Take a look at our interview with the cast and creatives of Skeleton Crew below.
However, the collective sum of The Mandalorian’s seasons has earned it an overall critic score of 90% and an average audience score of 78%.

It’s mostly just the third season bringing down the averages here, as it has an 85% critic score and a 50% audience score (oof).
Only one Star Wars TV show currently beats out both The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and there are no prizes for guessing which one it is.
Andor is currently at a whopping 96% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, although its audience score is well below both The Mandalorian’s and Skeleton Crew’s at 87%.
If you’re curious about what’s earning Skeleton Crew all this hype, then great news, as GAMINGBible’s Kate Harrold referred to it as a “fantastical adventure that speaks to a childlike yearning in all of us” in her recent preview.

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait a little while longer to see if Andor can retain its spot as the best Star Wars TV show, as its second season doesn’t air until April 2025. If it’s half as good as its first season though, I think most of us will come away pretty satisfied.
