In what will come as no surprise for those reading this, it’s been confirmed who’ll be playing Spidey in the upcoming Spider-Man 4.
In fairness, there could have been a chance that Toby Maguire got his long-awaited Spider-Man 4 movie or Andrew Garfield could have landed a role in the next MCU entry. Both of these are not impossible scenarios.
Check out the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer below!
That being said, while I would love to see both Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield make appearances in the MCU’s Spider-Man 4, at least in terms of Mr Garfield, I’d love to see him finally get his trilogy with The Amazing Spider-Man 3. You know we’d all love to see it.

So, let’s get back to the shocking news, shall we? Well firstly, as reported by THR, it’s been confirmed that Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will be directing Spider-Man 4 and will see the return of Tom Holland as the friendly neighbourhood hero.
Previously, Jon Watts was on directorial duties for the last three MCU Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland, namely Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home. But now Cretton will be in charge of the Sony Pictures and Disney’s Marvel Studios collaboration.
It will be interesting to see where Spider-Man 4 takes us, especially following the sacrifice that Peter Parker made in 2021’s No Way Home, which also saw the epic returns of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Will Spider-Man 4 have a more grounded approach in terms of villains for Peter Parker to contend with or will it be something from the multiverse? Only time will tell.
