Spider-Man 4 is far off in the MCU distance, so let’s forget about that for the time being and focus on what’s next, the animated show for Disney+, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.
The show will be a street-level look at Peter Parker as he truly begins to understand his powers on his way to becoming a hero.
For more Marvel animation on Disney+ look no further than X-Men '97
The animation will showcase several of Spider-Man’s roster of villains all while he attempts to survive his freshman year, and probably deal with his love life.

We’ve finally got a look at this Spider-Man as he will be getting a comic book to build excitement for the show.
The five-issue run will act as a prequel to the show and be written by Christos Gage, who will be joined by Eric Gapstur on art.
Gage already has a pedigree with Spider-Man as he has written many comic adventures in the past and worked on Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, so we know our webhead is in good hands.
The first look at the covers of the comic has appeared on Reddit and it’s looking great, with a very simple take on the hero and New York.

Whether this style carries on inside the comics is yet to be seen, but there are plenty of clean lines and bold colours. However, it keeps a slight retro aesthetic harking back to the golden age of comics.
Gage spoke on the upcoming adventures saying, “I’ve had the privilege of writing a lot of Spider-Man’s adventures, both in comics and in the Insomniac video games, but one thing I’ve never gotten the chance to do is recount his earliest exploits.”
According to Gage, we can expect plenty of villains, new characters, and an appearance from Nico Minoru from The Runaways.
This will all lead up to the premiere of Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man on Disney+ which doesn’t yet have a firm date of release.
