With Marvel Studios reportedly working on its first X-Men centered movie since 2020, rumours of its potential lineup have surfaced online, leaving fans divided.
It has been almost five years since the last X-Men movie hit cinemas (or six years if you believe that Dark Phoenix was the last true X-Men entry) and it has finally been revealed that Marvel Studios is hard at work on a brand-new saga for the team of superheroes.

Kicking off back in 2000 with Bryan Singer’s X-Men before wrapping up in 2020 with The New Mutants, the X-Men franchise had one hell of a run so it is no surprise that fans are eager for more.

Now thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the mutants are now officially back in Marvel’s hands and as a result, a new movie is on the way.
Despite the X-Men movie being announced back in 2019, it seems as though Marvel is in no rush to reveal which characters it will focus on which has led fans to begin speculating.
Now thanks to Marvel insider DanielRPK on Twitter, we may just have our first heroes.
According to him, both Kitty Pryde and Gambit will be a part of the X-Men in the upcoming Marvel film.

“Marvel Studios is reportedly casting Gambit and Kitty Pryde for the upcoming X-Men reboot”, he wrote, with the screenshots recently being posted to r/MarvelStudios_Rumours.
Despite this being a mere rumour, it has not stopped fans from sharing their thoughts and it seems as though the possible addition of Kitty and Gambit has led to a mixed response.
“I hope Gambit is a POV character who works for Sinister and joins the X-Men to destroy them from within. But later changes sides and helps X-Men to destroy Sinister,” the top comment from Objective_Painting70 reads.
Another user seems happy about the rumour, saying, “Kitty being a main X-men, I want to believe.”

The discussion soon turned to potential actors and with Channing Tatum recently taking on the role of Gambit in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, it seems as though not everybody wants to see him return.
“They should cast complete unknowns. Channing Tatum is too old, and quite frankly he just doesn’t really fit the role,” user Mylaststory shared.
With the inclusion of Kitty and Gambit having not been confirmed by Marvel, it remains a rumour but with the studio remaining tight-lipped about the new X-Men reboot, any news would be good news.
