Now that filming has commenced on Avengers: DOOMSDAY, we’re getting more and more leaks from the set, which isn’t much of a surprise.
One such leak appears to have come from behind the scenes, showing Robert Downey Jr. in his Doctor Doom threads, looking rather different to what we might have expected.
The next big Marvel release will be Thunderbolts*, in cinemas next month
The image, which is of course very blurry, shows RDJ in what seems to be a continuity photo used by the Marvel creatives.

It could very well be a fake, so let’s not discount that, but if we take it at face value, it’s not a bad take on a mash-up of Tony Stark and Doctor Doom.
You can see for yourself, over on Reddit, where fans aren’t quite convinced on this MCU take.
“That’s complete ass,” notes one Redditor, who got stuck in with their thoughts.
“Hopefully fake because that is terrible Doom armor,” comments theboned1.

The new look combines bits from Doom’s armour, along with touches of Iron Man - most notably, the reactor in the centre of his chest.
This, if the image is real, fans the flames that this will be a villainous version of Tony Stark donning the mantle.
“So it’s more Infamous Iron Man, hopefully there’s a real Doom after Secret Wars,” replies another Marvel fan.
With a refreshing change of opinion, one Redditor, way down in the comments, says, “I kinda dig it. Good way to make him look really different.”

To be honest though, it’s mostly fans calling out what seems to be a fake image, perhaps put together by some AI slop machine and then blurred to give off the vibes of a real leak.
Still, it gets people talking about what they expect from RDJ and Doom as we gear up to the film’s marketing and promotion.
I like the thought behind this comment from Clericldola, who said, “Just remember that somewhere in the multiverse, this isn't fake and is actually the real thing.”
